A few years ago, we gathered the courage to leave Germany behind and follow the call of the sea.
Our dream: a new life under palm trees, amidst sand, wind, and freedom.

Around two years ago, we took over HI Zanzibar – and with a lot of love, time, and passion, we transformed it into the place it is today. We renovated the hotel from the ground up, gave each room its own soul, and created a bridge between tradition and new beginnings with handcrafted furniture made from old dhow boats.

But a place is not only made of walls and furniture. It lives from the people who fill it with heart. That’s why it was important to us from the very beginning to build a harmonious team of local staff – from housekeeping to the head chef. Today, we are proud of these wonderful people who, with their smiles, warmth, and skills, contribute every day to making guests from all over the world feel at home here.

Our HI Skybar has long become a meeting point for locals, travelers, and sometimes even well-known personalities.
As the stories, languages, and cultures blend in a breeze at sunset over Paje, we know: our little dream has taken root.

The steadily growing positive reviews show us that we're steering in the right direction – and that HI Zanzibar is back on course.
